From Beeler Road, turn left onto Weaver Pike and proceed .4 mile. Turn right onto the ramp, then left onto Bristol Beltway (TN 394) and proceed 5.2 miles. At the traffic light, turn right onto Highway 11/US 19 N/US 11 E N/TN 34. Proceed 1.3 miles, then turn left onto Exide Drive. Continue .3 mile then turn onto Bethel Drive and continue .5 mile. Stay right on Carden Hollow Drive and continue for 2.32 miles to where the road ends at Highway 126. Take a right on Highway 126, and after 100 yards, you will see a driveway at the address 1895 on the left. Proceed up the driveway, and parking is located at the cemetery. Location: Yowell Meadow Park, Culpeper, VA Details: A State Level Event. Presidential Initiative.. A significant monument in honor of the Culpeper Minutemen will be dedicated on the 244th Anniversary of the Battle of Hampton. The Battle of Hampton was the first engagement in Virginia between our Patriot Ancestors, primarily the Culpeper Minutemen, and British Royal Forces; in this case Patriot Light Infantry engaged the Royal Navy and Marines, It was a decisive victory for the Patriots, resulting in the capture of one Royal Navy Ship while the remaining ships fled the scene. This Monument is a large granite slab in a specially landscaped area of the park with benches and interpretive panels. Watch for further details. (9:15 AM) - Yorktown - Wreath Laying at Nelson's Tomb; (10:30 AM) - Yorktown Day Parade Location: Yorktown, VA Details: A National Level Event. Muster at 8:45 for wreath laying - stakes for flags. Picture will be taken immediately following wreath laying. For parade muster as soon as the wreath laying is over at assigned muster location that will be provided that morning. Another picture, of all parade participants, will be taken just to the left of where we fall out from the parade.
