The FINCASTLE RESOLUTIONS CHAPTER, S.A.R., Roanoke, VA is planning another joint
Commemoration of ANDREW LEWIS DAY with VASSAR & WVSAR
Chapters, Color Guard, and D.A.R. Chapters from both states.
The Date is Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Salem Civil Center,
1001 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, VA. The TWO PAGE Attachment
explains our Commemoration and Registration. We anticipate a
two phase program -- Commemoration & Wreath Laying - luncheon-
and Cemetery Visit to GENERAL ANDREW LEWIS' S gravesite &
obelisk which was erected by the Margaret Lynn Lewis Chapter,
D.A.R. in 1902. We invite your contributions, your participation,
speakers, color guard, and some descendants to be a part of this
program. The deadline is May 15, 2019 to arrange for luncheon,
program, and details as set forth in the letter. The program should
run from about 10:30 AM through luncheon to about 2:00 PM.

Gravemarking Ceremony for Thomas Thurman, War 1812 veteran, and Robert Thurman, Revolutionary War patriot, Manassas, VA
On 18 May 2019, 2:30 pm, a Gravemarking Ceremony for Thomas Thurman, War 1812 veteran, and his father, Robert Thurman, Revolutionary War patriot, will be conducted by VASSAR and the Society of the War of 1812 in Virginia at the grounds of a brick foundry, Glen-Gary, at 9905 Godwin Drive in Manassas, VA 20110, across from the DMV. To All Virginia Sons of the American Revolution:
On Saturday, April 13, 2019, the Williamsburg Chapter of the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution will celebrate its 50th Anniversary since it was organized in 1969. This event will be celebrated during our luncheon meeting at noon at the Colonial Heritage Club, 6500 Arthur Hills Drive, Williamsburg.
During the celebration, we will be joined by representatives from the Daughters of the American Revolution and the George Wythe Society (C.A.R.) Chapters from Williamsburg; the Gov. Thomas Nelson, Jr. (SAR) and the Comte de Grasse (DAR) Chapters from Yorktown. Other invitees, will include the Mayor of Williamsburg. Representing the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation will be Nation Builders such as Mr. Steven Seal and “Young Thomas Jefferson” (Mr. Kurt Smith) who will be our keynote speaker.
We want to extend to members of all Virginia Society chapters an invitation to join the Williamsburg Chapter during this milestone celebration of fifty years of sponsoring and participating in the commemorative events that keep patriotism and the memory of our Revolutionary War heritage burning in the hearts and minds of every American.
