Three seventh grade Social Studies/American History Students at All Saints Catholic School, Manassas, VA were recognized for producing the best tri-fold brochures for the annual Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Brochure Contest sponsored by the Colonel William Grayson Chapter Virginia Society, SAR. Eliza Rhodes won first place with a brochure on the United States Constitution. She was awarded $50, a certificate, first place blue ribbon and a SAR Good Citizenship pin. Mary Collins won second place with a brochure on the Bill of Rights. She was awarded $25, a certificate, and a second place red ribbon. Mehek Jamil won third place with a brochure on the Declaration of Independence. She was awarded $15, a certificate and a third place white ribbon. Ms Devon Bell was the teacher for classes that produced a total of eighteen brochures for the contest. For her support of the Brochure contest she was presented a SAR Certificate of Appreciation. Presenting awards was Colonel William Grayson Chapter Vice President Barry Schwoerer who wore the uniform of one his Patriot Ancestors, a member of the New Hampshire Militia. All members of SAR must prove they are lineal descendants of a man or woman who provided support for the American Revolution.
