The host chapters Dan River, VASSAR, Berrymen Greene, VADAR, the Prizery, the Halifax county historical society and the city of South Boston welcome you to South Boston, Virginia and the 235th Celebration of the Crossing of the Dan.

Informal “Meet and Greet” Dinner at Ernie’s Seafood Buffet Restaurant. At 6:30 At 1010 John Randolph Road, South Boston 24592.
AT 10:00, In The Prizery, Official Welcome And Awards Followed By Keynote Speaker The Guest Speaker Will Be Janet Uhlar, Author Of, "Freedom's Cost: The Story Of Nathanael Greene." She Specializes In Biographical-Fiction Of Revolutionary War Heroes.
AT 11:00, A Parade Will March From The Prizery Down To The Riverside Monument Where A Wreath Laying Ceremony (Advise Compatriot Baker) Will Take Place, Led By SAR Color Guard From Many State Societies (In Case Of Bad Weather, Will Be Held In The Prizery).
AT 11:30, With Canon Roaring, Witness the Crossing of the Dan by Nathanael Greene’s Men in a 28 Ft. Replica of One of the Original Ferries. The Intrepid Reenactors Will Make This Crossing Come Hell Or High Water. Don’t Miss It!
AT 12:00, Warm Up With Brunswick Stew, Bread And A Beverage For $5.00 In The Prizery From A Local Volunteer Fire Department.
