CWG Chapter joins Sgt Mac Memorial Foundation Wreath Laying tribute at Quantico National Cemetery12/2/2017 report by Colonel William Grayson Chapter Vice President Barry Schwoerer 2 Dec 2017 Quantico National Cemetery The Colonel William Grayson Chapter, Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution joined hundreds of Patriotic Americans at the Annual wreath laying ceremony at Quantico National Cemetery conducted in honor of Sgt Eric McColley USMC. Green evergreen wreaths with red bows were placed on over 11,000 graves of Veterans interred at Quantico. The Chapter was joined by members of the Elizabeth McIntosh Hammill (EMH) Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, and members of the Colonel William Grayson Society Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R).
The Sgt. Mac Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to honor the memory of Marine Sgt. Eric McColley, Eric was killed along with seven fellow Marines and two Airmen when two Marine CH-53e helicopters collided off the coast of Djibouti, Africa on February 17, 2006. Eric, like so many other servicemen and women gave his life doing what he loved, serving his country. CWG members participating were: Mike Taimi, Barry Schwoerer, Bruce Downs, Tom Warzywak, and Kevin Schwoerer. EMC Chapter DAR members included: Janie Warzywak and Anna Schwoerer. CWG Society C.A.R members included: Arianna, Sophia and Gracelynn Schwoerer
