report submitted by George Beckett American Legion, Post 117 in Reedville and the James Monroe Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution joined forces to provide personal hygiene kits to hospitalized veterans. The kits were assembled and delivered by Legionnaire Clair Lum Lee and Compatriot George Beckett to the McGuire V.A. Hospital in Richmond last week.
Many of the hospitalized veterans are homeless and in need of support not provided by the Veterans Administration. The kits are managed by volunteers who work in the hospital assisting patients. Funding for the project came from the American Legion, Sons of the American Revolution, Light of Christ Anglican Church, Rappahannock Church of Christ, a Vietnam Veteran from West Virginia and many individuals throughout the Northern Neck. Fifty Vets Kits will be provided each quarter to our hospitalized veterans.
