Details: Lt. George Kilgour was a member of the Loudoun County Militia. He also provided supplies during the Revolutionary War. He was a mill operator and owned the land at the intersection of Rt 28 and Nokes Blvd; the land on which the Kilgour/Hummer Cemetery was located. The cemetery operated from 1770 to 1884 but was declared abandoned in 1962. Development in the area caused VDOT to move the graves to the present location. Of the 47 remains moved, only those of Lt. George Kilgour and his wife, Martina Bailey, are known.
