There are two categories of Revolutionary War Observances, those sponsored by the Virginia SAR and commemorations non sponsored but of special interest to the Virginia Society.

• Raid at Martin's Station Commemoration
• Yorktown Day Commemoration
• Battle of the Capes
• Signing of the Fairfax Resolves

Category 2 is non sponsored but of special interest to the Virginia Society:

• Abingdon Muster

• Constitution Day Celebration at Montpelier

• The Battle of Petersburg

• The Battle of Point Pleasant Observance

• The Valley Forge Observance

• The National Commemorative Service for President Madison’s Birthday

• The National Commemorative Service for President Jefferson’s Birthday

• The National Commemorative Service for President Monroe’s Birthday

The following are Tier 1 events not sponsored by Virginia:

• The Battle of Cowpens

• The Battle of Guilford Courthouse

• The Battle of King’s Mountain
